Bald cypress trees are a very good bonsai specimen.  These trees are fast growing and develop interesting characteristics. Many trees will grow ‘knees’ these are protruding root growths, just as they would grow in the swamps that they are very natural in.

I use this bald cypress bonsai as a training tool. Fast root growth teaches how to distribute the roots evenly. For a healthy bonsai above ground, the root below ground need to have good character.  Bonsai do best when you treat the whole tree, provide your trees with a healthy growing environment and you will grow beautiful bonsai.

Remembering that, in order to have a healthy and flourishing bonsai, the environment needs to be set up for healthy growth. Bonsai trees have needs, not very special, but proper light, watering and humidity all matter in keeping your bonsai trees healthy.
